Faronics Anti-Virus

Jerome’s team is in charge of protecting his company’s IT infrastructure. They had recently recognized the benefits of adopting a layered security strategy and had complemented their existing firewall by deploying Faronics Anti-Virus, Anti-Executable’s application whitelisting technology, and the instant system restore offered by Deep Freeze. With a large number of workstations to keep secure, they appreciated the simplicity of managing multiple Faronics solutions from one console via Faronics Core. All the workstation information they require is easily viewed in Core Console and they’ve grouped all their workstations by department for easier management.

The team adopted Faronics Anti-Virus as their AV solution of choice because of its integration with Deep Freeze. Thanks to the addition of Storage Spaces in Faronics Core, they can seamlessly perform their malware definitions and program updates while their computers are protected in a Frozen state.

As well, Jerome’s team can remotely perform or schedule any Faronics Anti-Virus tasks on individual workstations or any desired group. They’re able to create customized policies for updating, scanning or protecting groups of computers, and turn on/off the Email and Active protection features.

Using Faronics Core reporting ability, Jerome can regularly run detailed global workstation-specific reports to provide information on scan/protection history, quarantined files, threat severity, and affected workstations.

All Faronics Anti-Virus updates are hosted on Faronics Core Server so workstations can access them directly, and because of Core’s Active Task feature, the team knows that all configuration changes will be applied to a workstation, regardless of whether the affected computers are currently available or not. Tasks remain active until a target workstation is available which is particularly useful with laptops that are taken home.

As the company grows, Jerome knows he will be able to set up multiple Core Consoles so that departments can monitor and manage their own layered security deployment. Faronics Core’s scalable architecture simplifies this process greatly.
