Client-to-cloud communication in Deep Freeze Cloud just took another leap forward. While we’ve always supported “on-demand” actions via the Cloud Relay, these actions are only supported for Deep Freeze computers and requires that you dedicate a computer in your network to serve as a relay. In 2015 we introduced "Live-Actions" that helped reduce the 4-hour "Heartbeat" response time to anywhere from 2-15 minutes for a response to an action. That was just not acceptable to us so when you upgrade Cloud Agent to v2.2, we will start using WebSocket technology to reduce your response time to seconds instead of minutes!

In our new reality of working remotely, we felt that remoting into computers is an important function to implement into the product. This new feature allows IT Admins to utilize an RDP connection via our servers so they can help troubleshoot remote computers even from home! If someone is logged into the computer, we will request the end-user for permission to remote into their computer.

With the new WebSocket implementation mentioned above, we can now make software deployment so much faster! Installing, updating or uninstalling your favorite Software Updater apps can now be done on the fly if you do not wish to do it via the policy. Simply ensure that Deep Freeze is Thawed or Anti-Executable is placed in a Maintenance mode. The new Custom Apps and Scripts feature continues to be part of the Software Deployment offering in the Ultimate plan.

Similar to what you're used to on the Windows Update Dashboard today, this new page is a fresh and modern way to allow IT Admins to review pending patches and authorize them. Ensure that Deep Freeze is Thawed or Anti-Executable is placed in a Maintenance mode if you're trying to perform on-demand actions. You can enable Windows Updates functionality in the Software Updater policy.

IT Admins can now set up their administrators to log in to Deep Freeze Cloud using their Identity Provider’s portal. Similar to the AD Integration functionality, this feature will also be included as part of the Ultimate plan.
