VANCOUVER, B.C. and PLEASANTON, Calif., November 6, 2015 — Faronics, a global leader in simplifying, securing and managing multi-user computer environments, achieved acclaim this year for outstanding education technology. Tech & Learning named three Faronics solutions as winners of 2015’s Award of Excellence:
Deep Freeze Cloud: New Product
Deep Freeze Enterprise: Best Upgraded Product
Faronics Insight: Best Upgraded Product
“Once again this year, the Tech & Learning judges examined hundreds of entries to select the winners of 2015’s Award of Excellence. This wasn’t just checking off spec sheets and surfing other people’s reviews. Each product was handled and scored individually. Not an easy task.” says Kevin Hogan, Editorial Director for NewBay Media’s Tech & Learning Group. “These companies can be proud that their products were selected as winners by this prestigious team of judges.”
Deep Freeze Cloud won for its suite of enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products. In addition to providing bulletproof computer protection with the patented reboot-to-restore technology of Deep Freeze, the suite includes services to manage software automation, asset administration, power savings, and computer lockdown. IT Administrators can further secure their computers with application control and antivirus.
“Customers can now leverage the power of the cloud via web or the convenience of our mobile Deep Freeze Administrator app to protect and manage their IT assets from anywhere at any time” said Heman Mehta, director of product management at Faronics.
The Tech & Learning Best Upgrade awards are given to products that have kept up with the ever-evolving technology sector by making significant changes and offering ultimately better products to both new and existing customers alike. To that end, in the past year and a half, Faronics has made a concerted effort to upgrade and improve the features offered by Deep Freeze Enterprise and Faronics Insight.
“These awards are a tribute to all the hard work we have put into making our products the best solutions for our customers,” said Mehta. “All of these enhancements were driven from very valuable customer feedback that we carefully prioritized to provide the best upgrade experience.”
Over the past year, Deep Freeze Enterprise has changed to include remote launch capabilities, enhanced dynamic groups filtering, the ability to remotely format ThawSpaces, touchscreen access controls, enhancements to its build-in Windows update automation, a new modern look and Windows 10 support, among other important features. Customers can also take advantage of the new Deep Freeze Cloud offering via the Deep Freeze Cloud Connector subscription add-on that connects the Enterprise Console to deepfreeze.com with just one click.
Faronics Insight, a classroom management software solution, has evolved to meet changing demand within the tech space as well. The product now includes support to manage students on Google Chromebooks, and Assessment Mode which allows teachers to “lock down” student computers during state assessment tests. It also now includes an Auto Update feature that automatically upgrades all Windows and Mac computers to the most recent version of the Insight software. Support and features for the latest Windows 10, OS X El Capitan and iOS have also been added.
