Deep Freeze Supports Dropbox & Google Drive – enabling ThawSpaces in The Cloud

VANCOUVER, B.C. and PLEASANTON, Calif., November 17, 2015 — Faronics, a global leader in simplifying, securing and managing multi-user computer environments, announced the release of My Cloud Drive. This new service leverages Dropbox and Google Drive to empower end-users to automatically save their data to a supported cloud storage provider. In the event the computer is protected by Deep Freeze, the service ensures the data will survive a restart until it is successfully uploaded to the cloud drive.

“A recent survey of our Deep Freeze customers found that 47% of the end-users were saving data on networks drives, 36% on thumb drives, and the rest on ThawSpaces; we wanted to provide a seamless solution that allows users to save directly to their preferred cloud drive,” said Heman Mehta, Director of Product Management at Faronics. “IT Administrators no longer need to provide network shares to their users, manage Deep Freeze ThawSpaces to retain data, or worry about backing up user data. Initial feedback from our launch has been very positive.”

With My Cloud Drive, none of the cloud data is downloaded to the computer until the user requests it by clicking on it within the Windows File Explorer. The modified files are automatically saved back to the cloud and then deleted from the computer, ensuing protection from system failure or computer theft.
