Hang up your driving gloves and say no to Mario Kart on Facebook. There’s a new scam to hit Facebook inviting users to join in a game of Mario Kart. It’s targeting those fans among us who revel in fond memories of narrowly avoiding banana peels and firing turtle shells at your opponents.
However here’s the rude awakening. There is no game in fact, even after you hit ‘play now’. Instead of hanging with Luigi and Yoshi, you’re redirected to complete an online survey. Disappointing? You betcha. So why is this? Well scammers earn more money for every person they send to the online surveys.
Not only does this scam affect you if you click on ‘play now’, but it can update your status and even distribute private messages to your contacts. So before you anger all your friends and have them threatening to throw birds at you, remember not to fall for this Facebook scam. Better yet, share this info and protect your friends.
