When it comes to PC Power Management, there are 3 things that can really bother some folk as they grind away at their computers. If you have a power management policy you’ll need to be aware of the big challenges. Make sure that power savings don’t make angry users.
- Make sure that certain applications, that can run for a long time don’t get interrupted by your policy. Nothing wrecks a great PowerPoint presentation like a screen saver.
- Make aggressive power plans after hours only and save your users some carpal tunnel by constantly moving the mouse to keep their computer up and running.
- Allow users to delay PC Power Management for a period of time. Even if power management has to be applied, give them a bit of control and let them get on with their work.
