To Follow Or Not To Follow

With over 2 million companies building pages on Linked In and many new ones adding pages daily, how do you decide which companies worth following and getting updates from?

There are some obvious considerations: I follow companies I like, the ones I’m curious about and also those that have exciting developments I want to keep track of.

My next step is seeing if the company page is being updated consistently with the posts that are relevant to me with the information that speaks to my interests.  Are they a reliable source of the information I care about? Dell is on my “Follow” list and they do a great job of having frequent updates about their new initiatives and trend reviews, so does LinkedIn themselves.

Next thing I trust is peer recommendations – are there other LinkedIn members that follow the page and do they care about the company enough to recommend their products? Are any of them among my connections?

Finally I’m looking for pages that can further my knowledge – is there a short IT Trend report I can Learn from or a video that can give me a quick insight into new products of developments.  If all the above are met – It’s a go I’ll follow the company and watch for updates daily.

Which companies do you follow? Is Faronics on your list?
