Facebook Is Popular With College Students

Facebook is currently the most popular platform among college students for discussing school related information. It’s the social networking site most often used to organize study groups, and it’s often the easiest way to get a friend to quickly update you on what you missed in class that day.

More recently, there has been an abundance of student-made groups and pages with a more specific goal in mind. There are groups where student’s can try and buy and sell used textbooks. There are groups where student’s from specific schools can discuss which classes are GPA boosters, and which ones to avoid. There are even groups where student’s can post funny conversations they overheard, or quirky comments made by professors and other students (“Overheard at ______”).

Students have effectively utilized Facebook in order to allow quicker and easier communication among peers.
