Complement or Replace GPOs
WINSelect can work with and manage GPOs while providing additional control that GPOs don’t natively provide, like modifying start button functionality. Alternatively they can replace GPOs altogether.
One-click Kiosk Setup
WINSelect can easily transform a full-featured computer into a kiosk machine with one click. When activated, Kiosk mode will launch your chosen application(s) automatically at system logon, and restrict users from minimizing, maximizing, or closing the program(s).

Faronics Core Console
The Faronics Core Console allows you complete management and control of all your Faronics products over your entire network.
With the appropriate product load-ins, Faronics Core Console allows you to control program whitelisting, anti-virus, power-management, Windows environment and IT asset management.
All the features of Faronics software can be accessed and managed across your network from one or many core console locations.
Run detailed reports on one or multiple workstations, schedule automatic tasks and updates and keep log records, all from one central console.
Faronics Core Console implementation varies organization to organization. We recommend checking out our user guide, or downloading the Core Console package below.
Faronics WINSelect
WINSelect has provided Peter and his team with an easy way to standardize his users’ environments without the complexity of Group Policy Objects. To further simplify this process they are managing their WINSelect deployment with Faronics Core. All the workstation information they need is easily viewed in Core Console and they’ve grouped all their workstations by department for easier management.
Faronics Core allows Peter’s team to centrally perform or schedule any WINSelect tasks on any number of workstations. They’re able to remotely lockdown their workstations via customized templates, set restriction times and levels, apply configuration changes without the user having to logoff, and remotely scan a computer and select the programs which are allowed and not allowed to run. Because of Core’s Active Task feature, the team knows that all configuration changes will be applied to a workstation, regardless of whether the affected computers are currently available or not – tasks remain active until a target workstation is available.
Faronics Core allows Peter’s team to monitor and control workstations that have been set in “Kiosk Mode” and configure User Session settings to enforce time limits on workstation usage. Using the Faronics Core’s Active Directory integration, the team can also import ADM templates to control any Microsoft product as well as import Microsoft Vista GPO’s to control workstation functions.
With the organization’s upcoming expansion, the next step will be to set up multiple Core Consoles so that each department can monitor and manage their own user controls. Core’s scalable architecture will make this process a breeze.
