VANCOUVER, B.C. & PLEASANTON, Calif.– Faronics Corporation, a global leader in enterprise computer management and endpoint security, is celebrating 20 years of creating technology innovations that have helped organizations manage, simplify, and secure multi-user computing environments.

Incorporated in 1996, Faronics marked its beginnings in the computer hardware industry, slowly transitioning into the booming software industry of the late 90s. The year 1999 marked the release of their hugely popular software, Faronics Deep Freeze. With its innovative ‘Reboot to Restore’ technology, for which Faronics has been awarded three patents, Deep Freeze initially saw widespread use within the educational sector, and soon became a familiar name across other industries like retail, healthcare and the public sector. Today, more than 70 percent of all educational institutions in North America use Faronics’ software in their environments.

The new millennium saw successful forays into international markets, with the addition of offices in the U.S., U.K., Singapore, France, and Germany. The success of Deep Freeze set the stage for Faronics’ entry into the endpoint security space as well, with new product launches for white-listing, lock-down and antivirus solutions. Faronics’ current suite of products ensures 100 percent workstation availability, and frees up IT teams from tedious technical support and software issues, while helping them save time and reduce IT support costs.

Faronics has since expanded its offerings to cater to multi-location computing environments, for big retail chains, government agencies, healthcare organizations, and multinational corporations. Deep Freeze has since evolved, from being offered as an on-premise software solution, to a centrally managed enterprise offering, to its latest avatar, Deep Freeze Cloud – a cloud-based, unified computer management platform. After 20 years of consistent innovation, Faronics Corporation has sold over 9 million software licenses, which are used by more than 30,000 organizations in 150 countries across the world.

In recognition of its consistent, quality service to its customers, Deep Freeze has received numerous awards, including the 2015 Awards of Excellence from Tech & Learning, in the categories of ‘Best Updated Product’ (Faronics Insight, Faronics Deep Freeze Enterprise) and ‘Best New Product’ (Faronics Deep Freeze Cloud).
