If you’re lacking the motivation to keep up with your gym dates, perhaps a small fine will do the trick? It’s an outrageous idea, but very real.
GymPact is a new app for iPhone that will charge money every time its user misses a gym date. The fine can range anywhere from $5 to $50.
You fill out your credit card info, enter your gym schedule, and decide how much money you will pay for missing each workout. You pay your fine at the end of each week, and the money you lose goes to those who kept their gym dates.
Whaaaat!? If that’s not motivation enough, I don’t know what is. Oh, and don’t count on cheating; the GPS on your phone will prove whether or not you were really at the gym. Not only that, each workout must be at least a half hour in order for it to count.
I can’t decide if I think this is sick, or genius. What do you think of GymPact?
