More and more Canadians are doing their banking from their cellphones.
Canada was the on the top of the list of online and mobile bankers in 2010, with approximately 65% of Internet users using the Internet to do their banking.
With a majority of Canadians now comfortable with online banking, it will likely grow as a mobile activity. At the moment, about 13% of Canadians are using their phones to check their accounts, but the number is expected to grow. A recent survey from ING Direct revealed that half of Canadian smartphone users will be banking from their mobile device within 24 months.
So far, those who haven’t hopped on the bandwagon are either concerned about their security, or find online banking more convenient.  Canadians also showed to have less of a concern towards the security of their information at 84% versus 90% globally.
