SAN RAMON, CA, June 23rd, 2010 — Faronics, a global leader in PC power management software, today announced the release of Power Save 4.2. This latest version of the PC energy and cost reducing software includes several new features to simplify energy management. Power Plans are now easier to configure with the new Power Plan Assistant, while manual deployment of Power Plans/Policies to workstations is no longer required thanks to the Automatic Power Plan/Policy synchronization. Another significant feature addition is the Save Open Documents support for Lotus Notes. Files such as e-mail drafts, to-do lists, meeting planners, and calendars will automatically be saved prior to any shutdown. There is also now the ability to search regional energy costs by country, region, and state for use in savings reports.
An additional highlight in this version is the Faronics StorageSpace support. “Thanks to the StorageSpace support our Deep Freeze customers no longer have to worry about Thawing their computers prior to changing Power Save configurations. All Power Save changes will be retained even on a Frozen machine now,” said Hemanshu Mehta, Product Manager for Power Save. Faronics Power Save uses intelligent energy management to ensure workstations are available when system resources are required, while conserving power during productivity downtimes. Faronics Power Save provides organizations with centralized computer energy management, allowing
companies to continuously maximize their savings by powering IT down daily. Power Save is also non-disruptive, integrates seamlessly with existing IT maintenance routines, and provides organizations with centralized granular cross platform PC power management, savings reports, and a rapid ROI.
A free, fully functional 30 day evaluation version of Faronics Power Save can be downloaded from www.faronics.com for both Windows and Mac computers. Faronics Power Save is also compatible with Faronics Deep Freeze, the company’s award-winning system integrity software solution that prevents configuration drift and workstation downtime.
