Faronics Press Room

SAN RAMON, CA, December 6, 2005 — Faronics is pleased to announce the official release of Faronics Anti-Executable version 2.1, for both Standard and Enterprise editions. With its unique whitelist technology, Anti-Executable standardizes any environment by preventing all unauthorized or unwanted programs from installing or running.

This version features added WSUS support, as well as increased reliability, performance, and executable protection. Due to Faronics’ recent expansion into Japan and the reseller agreement signed with Networld, Anti-Executable Enterprise and Anti-Executable Standard editions have now been localized in Japanese.

“Having Anti-Executable is like having a custom built operating system, where you decide once and for all what will and what won’t run on your systems,” said Guillermo Téllez, the Faronics Anti-Executable product manager. “The product also helps you regain control over software piracy. You will no longer have to worry about software licensing issues, and your Acceptable Use Policies will be adhered to without fail. Your technical support team will never again have to spend time dealing with the aftermath of unwanted executables like Trojans, spyware, viruses, or any other malware.”

Upon install, Anti-Executable does a deep scan of a computer and places all installed applications on a whitelist. From that point forward, any executable that is not on this whitelist is deemed unauthorized and will never run or install. Administrators are given control and flexibility through the option to authorize specific applications as needed. AntiExecutable protects systems against malware and day-zero attacks by blocking all unknown executables.

Fully functional evaluations version of Anti-Executable Enterprise and Standard are available for 60-day trial periods at www.faronics.com.
