SAN RAMON, CA, March 17, 2008 — Faronics surprised attendees of Novell BrainShare 2008 by announcing at the show the release of the highly-anticipated Deep Freeze Snap-in for Novell ConsoleOne. The Deep Freeze Snap-in for Novell ConsoleOne provides IT personnel with the option to manage their Deep Freeze deployment through a centralized tool that they are already familiar with. The release of the Snap-in at this year’s show and a Linux version of Deep Freeze at last year’s show demonstrate the strengthening technological alliance between Faronics and Novell.
Faronics Deep Freeze enables administrators to protect a workstation system without restricting user access. With every restart, Deep Freeze resets the computer to its original state, providing total system protection and consistency while offering flexible options for saving user data. Novell ConsoleOne empowers IT administrators with the ability to easily manage and monitor enterprise computer deployments. The Deep Freeze Snap-in for Novell ConsoleOne enables administrators to Freeze or Thaw a protected machine, as well as update the Deep Freeze configuration file. They can also install, uninstall, or update Deep Freeze on the local machine, and view the workstation’s protection status in real-time. All Deep Freeze tasks can be created and executed immediately or scheduled for a future date.
The Deep Freeze Snap-in for Novell ConsoleOne supports workstations running Windows 98, 2000, and XP
that have Deep Freeze 6.3 installed. Specific requirements for individual components are listed in the user manual. Current Deep Freeze users can download the Snap-in for free from Faronics Labs, Faronics’ customer-care portal, at www.faronicslabs.com. A free, fully functional evaluation copy of Deep Freeze is available at www.faronics.com for the Windows, Mac OS X, and SuSE Linux operating systems.
