In its latest report by PassMark, Faronics’ Anti-Virus was ranked first in its class. The Anti-Virus product was also recognized by AV-Comparatives as an Approved Security Product. PassMark utilized several performance metrics for its rankings, including installation time and size, boot time, CPU and memory usage, schedule scan time and network throughput. Overall, Faronics’ Anti-Virus achieved a leading score of 62, with the closest runner up receiving a score of 55. The PassMark comparison found that Faronics Anti-Virus boots up in half the time it took Kaspersky ES10 and requires only one-fifth of space for installation as Kaspersky ES10. Faronics Anti-Virus was also able to be installed nine times faster than McAfee’s CEP, deploying in only 114 seconds as compared to CEP’s 1,043.31 seconds. In addition, PassMark found that Faronics Anti-Virus scanned a system more than 20 times faster than ESET NOD32, taking only 59.20 seconds in scan time as opposed to ESET NOD32’s more than 1,328 seconds. Faronics Anti-Virus also ranked better in memory, consuming less than 105 MB of memory versus Symantec EP SBE 2013’s more than 261 MB. “These results speak volumes about the capabilities of Faronics Anti-Virus in comparison with other systems on the market today,” said Heman Mehta, Product Management Leader at Faronics. “Our product achieved impressive scores for its memory usage, boot time, file write, open and close, network throughput, file compression and decompression, scheduled scan time.
