SAN RAMON, CA, January 6, 2009 — Faronics is kicking off Macworld 2009 by announcing the upcoming release of a Mac OS X client for Faronics’ leading classroom computer management solution, Insight—great news for instructors who are managing users on both Windows and Mac based computers. Once version 7.21 of Insight is released in Q1 of 2009, instructors will be able to use the Insight Console on their Windows computer to manage both Windows and Mac based classroom computers at the same time.
Faronics Insight is changing the way classroom technology is used by turning standard computer labs into collaborative learning environments. Insight empowers instructors with the ability to educate, assist, monitor, and communicate with an entire class from one central computer. Instructors can easily monitor user computers, blank user screens, remote into user workstations, and limit access to the Internet and desktop applications. When classroom collaboration is required, instructors can share their screen with users, or with the instructor’s supervision, let users share their screen with other users. Communication efficiency is also improved with the ability to send and collect files, and broadcast messages.

A free 30 day evaluation version of Insight for Windows can be downloaded from www.faronics.com. When the Mac OS X client is released in Q1 of 2009, it will support Mac OS X 10.4 and higher.
