SAN RAMON, CA, April 27, 2006 — According to Apple, its next major operating system, Leopard, will include a utility to allow users to install and run the Windows XP operating system on Macintosh hardware. The beta version of this utility is currently called Boot Camp, and is publicly available for downloading. Faronics is happy to announce that Deep Freeze is fully compatible with both Mac OS and Windows XP when Boot Camp is used.
“Faronics is extremely excited about Apple’s release of Boot Camp and the impending release of Leopard; it certainly expands the scope of development for the Mac,” said David Anderson, Faronics’ Deep Freeze Mac Product Manager. “Mac users who are interested in exploring and experimenting with Windows can use Deep Freeze to insure that either or both operating systems will remain consistently trouble-free no matter what changes or configuration mistakes an inexperienced user might make.”
“Deep Freeze can also act as a safeguard for users who are interested in making the switch from Windows to Mac and would like to take it one step at a time,” said Victor Gonzalez, Faronics’ Deep Freeze Product Manager. “They can rest assured that both operating systems are completely protected.”
Deep Freeze instantly protects and preserves baseline computer configurations for both Mac and Windows operating systems. No matter what changes a user makes to a workstation, simply restart to eradicate all changes and reset the computer to its original state. Expensive computer assets are kept running at 100% capacity and technical support time is reduced or eliminated completely. The result is consistent trouble-free computing on a truly protected and parallel network, completely free of harmful viruses and unwanted programs.
