According to Microsofts recent blog post and an article from Information Week over 5% of tested individuals had malware on their PC. The test group consisted of 460,000 individuals who voluntarily downloaded Microsoft Safety Scanner for this study.
- Information was gathered in a 7 day period by Microsoft using the Microsoft Safety Scanner
- Of the infected PC’s the average PC had 3.5 pieces of malware
- 7 of the top 10 threats were Java exploits
- Since 2010 Java exploits have been on the rise.
