Every other day a news story breaks about some major security breach at a large company. What you don’t hear about is when a computer virus attacks your home computer. Home computer virus attacks do happen a lot and can easily happen to you.
Your home computer is full of information that hackers would love to get their hands on. Online banking passwords or the credit card information you used for that online shopping spree last week are the obvious targets. The information in your emails, your chat history or even your family photos are equally as vulnerable and valuable to hackers.
Protect yourself now. Like most home users, you have an anti-virus program installed, and like most you probably think that’s all you need. Unfortunately, it’s not enough.
Computer virus protection goes far beyond using anti-virus alone. Anti-virus is only capable of stopping the threats it knows about. There are 60,000 new computer threats released each and every day so you need something more. You need a layered security approach.
In addition to anti-virus, whitelisting software only allows the programs that you put on your whitelist to run. If it’s not on your list, it doesn’t run. Simple as that.
Protect your computer from viruses with layered security.
