SAN RAMON, CA, July 20, 2011 — Faronics has released the newest version of their system-restore software, Deep Freeze Mac 5.0, to coincide with the launch of Apple’s newest operating system, Mac OS X Lion. The concurrent launch of Deep Freeze Mac 5.0 demonstrates Faronics’ commitment to delivering bulletproof workstation protection while reducing computer support costs.

Like its predecessors, Deep Freeze Mac 5.0 removes any unauthorized system changes and returns the computer to its original state.  It also eliminates the need for IT professionals to perform rebuilds, re-image, or troubleshoot computers—reducing support incidents up to a documented 63 percent.

IT administrators are able to map user accounts individually or by user type to an unprotected partition or a ThawSpace to retain user documents, pictures, movies, bookmarks and other data between protected sessions.

The newest version of Deep Freeze Mac has evolved from a decade of innovation and commitment to customer-focused products, and protects a workstation’s operating system and software without restricting user access. Deep Freeze Mac also offers a wide range of enterprise capabilities via its seamless integration with Apple Remote Desktop.

“Macintosh users can be assured that our latest version of Deep Freeze offers the same vigorous protection of their updated workstations,” said Dmitry Shesterin, Vice President of Marketing for Faronics. “We are committed to supporting the Mac/Windows or Mac-only users who make up a significant number of our customers.”

A free, fully functional 30-day evaluation version of Deep Freeze Mac can be downloaded at www.faronics.com.
