Faronics Anti-Executable and RTP Federal Credit Union
"The product and the trial evaluation were easy and straightforward to use, which convinced us to give our business to Faronics.”
- Denis Graham, Information Systems Manager
Challenges Faced

RTP Federal Credit Union was founded in 1968 by a group of federal employees in the Research Triangle Park and now services more than 13,000 members and $100 million in assets. Because RTP Federal Credit Union handles thousands of financial transactions, data security and protection is of utmost importance. The IT staff was also concerned with potential malware threats that his current anti-virus solution was unable to battle. Traditional anti-virus solutions are often ineffective at battling threats such as zero-day executable worms and rootkits. RTP Federal Credit Union currently undergoes two IT audits a year and needs to satisfy various requirements under the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act 404 directive.

A Solution That Worked

RTP Federal Credit Union deployed Faronics Anti-Executable to protect their systems from malware. By deploying this additional layer of security, the credit union can safeguard PCs from threats that anti-virus solutions are unable to detect. Because of its application whitelisting abilities, Anti-Executable also helps ensure compliance with written policy about download and installation of unauthorized applications. They achieved a reduction in workstation maintenance that led to higher productivity amongst employees.
