Creating ThawSpaces With Deep Freeze

This demo is about data storage options and using ThawSpaces with Deep Freeze.

How do you provide data storage options to users on machines protected with Deep Freeze? Data such as My Documents, Favorites, Outlook .ost and .pst files can be retained even after system with Deep Freeze has been restarted.

Step-by-step instructions cover the following areas:

  • On systems with secondary partitions created selecting drives that will be used for data retention and using folder redirection to a network location
  • On workstations with no secondary partitions or no network storage available, using ThawSpaces provided by Deep Freeze. ThawSpaces are virtual partitions that are assigned to the drive letter that are hosted on the frozen C drive. Up to 8 ThawSpaces can be configured.
