Deep Freeze Windows XP & Server 2003 End of Support?

Microsoft officially ended Windows XP support on April 8, 2014 and Server 2003 support on July 14, 2015.

Faronics supported Deep Freeze on XP for an additional 5 years but unfortunately, it is time for us to officially drop support for both XP and Server 2003 operating systems. We’ve seen a remarkable drop in XP deployments over the past few years, starting at almost 20% in 2014 to just under 0.5% in 2019.

Finally, the time has come for us, along with our developers, to invest our resources toward supporting more recent technologies so that we can continue to deliver great new experiences. As a result, Deep Freeze version 8.6 onwards will not install on these operating systems.

 

 

Continue with older version of Deep Freeze

If you already have Deep Freeze installed on these operating systems, it’ll continue to Freeze and Thaw your Deep Freeze workstations. However, if you upgrade to the latest version of Deep Freeze, or migrate to the next version of Windows, the older version will stop working and you will need to migrate to the latest versions.

Note that Deep Freeze version 8.57 will be the last version to support Windows XP and Server 2003.
