  • Reporting: Introducing a robust reporting feature within the Enterprise Console, designed to enhance visibility into workstation performance and management. – Customizable Grids: Organize data by dragging column headers, and show or hide specific report types for a tailored view, making report analysis more efficient. – Search and Filter: Use filtering options (e.g., ‘Equals’, ‘Contains’) to locate specific data and refine report content quickly and precisely.
  • Available Reports: – Current Status: Monitor Deep Freeze status and track time in Thawed state. Actions History: Review actions applied to workstations, including updates and configuration changes. Security and Compliance: Identify workstations that require updates or have been in a Thawed state for an extended period. Workstation Utilization: Analyze workstation usage over a chosen period. Top Thawed & Online Workstations: Identify workstations with the most time in Thawed state or highest uptime. Recently Offline & Online Workstations: Track workstations that have recently connected to or disconnected from the Console.   • Tags: Easily categorize workstations by applying custom tags, such as department names or functions. Quickly find related items through tag-based browsing and search, improving organization and asset tracking.

  • DF Local Event Logs: Informative event logging in the local Windows Event Logs. Logs include the state of Deep Freeze (Thawed, Frozen, Locked, in Maintenance), the identity of users changing the status locally, and the source of changes (Console, User, Command Line) for better oversight and transparency.

  • Maintenance Schedules Create maintenance schedules where you can perform Apple software updates, run a script or any other maintenance required. Optionally warn users prior to a maintenance period, lock the keyboard and mouse and shut down the computer after the maintenance period.

Faronics Anti-Virus Enterprise Feature History

Version 4.0 (February 2017)

In an effort to remain best-in-class, Faronics Anti-Virus will now be powered by a new engine that consistently ranks among the highest in the antivirus industry. Existing customers of Faronics Anti-Virus are requested to migrate to the New Anti-Virus 4.0  before June 30, 2017. Faronics Core Console customers will be able to install the New Anti-Virus Loadin version 4.0 as a separate product.

  • Upgrade Faronics Core
  • Uninstall Legacy Anti-Virus from the workstations
  • Configure the new Anti-Virus policy
  • Install Anti-Virus 4.0 on the workstations

Note: Email Protection and Web Filtering features have been deprecated to keep the product lightweight and to optimize performance.

  • New Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) Firewall:  New Windows Filtering Platform drivers are now available that result in a more robust firewall.
  • IPv6 support: Applications using IPv6 addresses can now be allowed or blocked.
  • Web Relay for virus definition: A new Web Relay is installed as part of the Anti-Virus Loadin. The virus definitions are downloaded from a web relay that is independent of Faronics Core. The workstations ‘pull’ the definitions without adding any load on Faronics Core.
