Enforcing a Passcode on the device

A passcode can be enforced by configuring settings in a group and assigning devices to the group.

Complete the following steps to enforce a passcode on the device:

1.	Go to MDM > Groups.

2.	Click the iOS or Android icon.

3.	Click Add Group.

4.	Configure the following settings:

•	Passcode tab - configure the following settings for enforcing the passcode:

•	iOS - configure the following settings for iOS devices:

—	Require a Passcode - select to reveal settings and select the values for the following fields:

—	Require alphanumeric value - select the check box to enforce an alphanumeric value for the passcode.

—	Allow simple value - select the check box to allow repeating, ascending and descending character sequence.

—	Minimum length - specify the minimum length of the passcode.

—	Minimum number of complex characters - specify the number of complex characters that a passcode must contain.

—	Maximum age in days - specify the number of days after which passcode must be changed.

—	Passcode history - specify the number of unique passcodes before reuse (0-50).

—	Maximum grace period before lock - specify the amount of time device can be locked before a passcode is required to unlock it.

—	Maximum number of failed attempts - specify the number of attempts before device is erased.

—	Maximum auto-lock time - specify the duration after which the device automatically locks.

•	Android - iOS - configure the following settings for iOS devices:

—	Require alphanumeric value - select the check box to enforce an alphanumeric value for the passcode.

—	Allow simple value - select the check box to allow repeating, ascending and descending character sequence.

—	Minimum length - specify the minimum length of the passcode.

—	Maximum age in days - specify the number of days after which passcode must be changed.

—	Passcode history - specify the number of unique passcodes before reuse (0-50).

—	Maximum number of failed attempts - specify the number of failed attempts before device is erased.

—	Maximum auto-lock time - specify the amount of time after which the device automatically lock.

Require Work Profile Passcode (Android N and above)

—	Require a Passcode - select to reveal settings and select the values for the following fields:

—	Require alphanumeric value - select the check box to enforce an alphanumeric value.

—	Allow simple value - select the check box to allow repeating, ascending and descending character sequence.

—	Minimum length - specify the minimum lenght of the password.

—	Maximum age in days - specify the days after which passcode must be changed.

—	Passcode history - specify umber of unique passcodes before reuse (0-50).

—	Maximum number of failed attempts - specify the number of attempts before device is erased.

—	Maximum auto-lock time - specify the amount of time after which the device automatically locks.

5.	Specify a name of the group.

6.	Click Save.
