Mobile Device Management : Enrolling Mobile Devices : Android

Android
An Android device can be configured as a User Owned Device or a Work Managed Device. The two types of configuration are explained in this chapter.

Work Managed Device
Configuring a device as a work managed device gives more control to the administrator. A work managed device restricts the user from installing apps other than the ones specified by the administrator. Only the apps specified by the administrator will be visible in the Google Play Store.
Complete the following steps to configure a work managed device:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Select Agree to all for the Terms and Conditions. Click Next.
5.
In the Verifying your account screen, specify afw#deepfreeze for Email or phone.

User Owned Device
Configuring a mobile device as a user owned device gives more control to the user. The user of the mobile device can install their own apps in addition to the apps installed by the administrator via Deep Freeze MDM. A BYOD device is usually configured as a user owned device. However, a device owned by the organization can also be configured as a user owned device.
Configuring a user owned device consists of the following:
Android for Work - configuring Android for Work to connect Deep Freeze MDM to Google Mobile Device Management.
On Device Setup - to connect the device to Deep Freeze MDM.
