Product News

The product development team at Faronics has had a very busy summer, so we’re pleased to announce another round of product updates this month. Identifying new threats and generating reports just got a whole lot easier with the new Faronics Anti-Executable web dashboard. Faronics Deep Freeze Mac 5.5 has also arrived, with some important new features.
Faronics Anti-Executable Web Dashboard
The new – and free – web dashboard adds additional value to Faronics Anti-Executable Enterprise by exposing application control enforcement and violation information from across the entire organization on a single web page.
By making this information centrally available, you’ll no longer need to provide dedicated access to IT systems for report generation as you can now generate such reports on demand.
The Faronics Anti-Executable web dashboard also has a set of configurable widgets that provide valuable insight into the various aspects of application control. Here’s a list of the widgets that are available:
- Top blocked programs
- Top blocked threats
- Daily violations (a nice looking chart)

- Recent violations
- Top violated machines
Each widget can be clicked on to launch a detailed report that can be printed out or exported into excel, text and other formats. Here’s a snap shot of what the dashboard looks like.
Download the new web dashboard here. Detailed instructions on how to install and use the dashboard can be found in this helpful user manual.
Faronics Deep Freeze Mac 5.5
OS X Mountain Lion has arrived and so has Deep Freeze 5.5 with Mountain Lion support. It also supports the Mac OS X Server platform.

Community Outreach
Last week, two very brave Faronics staffers made their mile high descent down one of Vancouver’s iconic skyscrapers.
Bob Murray, aka The Rappeler, and Stephen Barclay, aka Mr. Freeze, took to the city skyline to raise funds for Easter Seals in the annual Drop Zone event. Heroic hopefuls are encouraged to dress as their favorite super hero, quite fittingly, and are given the challenge of raising $1,000 in order to participate. The Faronics team was in tow to cheer on our super heroes as they made the death defying descent.
Bob and Stephen managed to raise $2,297.25 in support of Easter Seals by suiting up for the event!
Is the cloud secure?
With so many companies making the shift to cloud storage, it’s natural to have concerns around security and data protection. Cloud storage is still a relatively new technology, so many people feel uneasy about having their data in the cloud versus a tangible – and traditional – server or hard drive.
Is your data really safe in the cloud? Are you faced with a greater risk of a data breach by embracing this method of storing your information? Check out this month’s featured blog post – New security concerns with cloud storage – and share it with your network or post a comment to let us know what you think!
