An Easy Button for IT Guys

Henry Ford said it best, “A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business”. As a software provider, we put together a bunch of ones and zeros in a creative fashion. And as an end result, we simplify the business of IT.

Let’s face it. IT is a demanding job. It’s like directing traffic on a freeway. Stuff is moving really fast and only half of it is aimed at you. Can you imagine an accountant being asked to balance the books without using debits or credits? What made anyone think IT can keep a computer secure/operating/manageable without the benefit of good process and a decent set of tools?

IT faces an uphill battle constantly struggling with flexibility vs. security. So we’re here to help with a number of solutions designed to make the overworked IT Guy’s life easier while minimizing end user disruptions. And we also make our version of ‘an easy button’ just for IT…   A console that delivers all of these solutions quickly (and painlessly) across the entire network.

This month we released Faronics Core Server v3.43 to the public. I’m not going to hide the fact that a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into this project. We wrangled some serious muscle to give it real horsepower with a new task-processing engine.

First, it gives an overall status of all the workstations on the network. Next, a lone IT Guy can communicate with and manipulate all endpoints using a single swoop of the keyboard. We even threw in a powerful scheduler so the Console can do the work even when you’ve gone home for the night. (You do leave the office right?) Automation is gold and the Core Server takes on the heavy lifting so you don’t have to.

So for all you hard working, good looking, under-appreciated IT Professionals out there… You know who you are. This one is for you!
