Faronics Anti-Virus has been awarded the illustrious VB100 certification by Virus Bulletin. For over 20 years, Virus Bulletin has been an independent testing body that evaluates and benchmarks security software. The VB100 award is earned by products that block all files from recently reported malware “in the wild”, while generating no false positives when scanning Virus Bulletin’s large and regularly updated collection of clean files. Faronics Anti-Virus was evaluated along with 30 other antivirus solutions in a test conducted during the month of June 2018. The full report can be found on the Virus Bulletin website.
Faronics Anti-Virus obtained an impressive 100% catch rate during the “Wildlist” test performed on Windows 7 and Windows 10. A product achieves a VB100 certification if no more than 0.5% of WildList samples are missed and no more than 0.01% of legitimate files are blocked. The Virus Bulletin WildList contained 894 samples. The set of clean files used for the false positive test contained 100,000 files, of which 30,070 were portable executable files.
