Employees at CoVantage CU love to play games at work and chat via instant messaging; so much so that the credit union enlisted the whitelisting capabilities of Anti-Executable to improve user productivity by eliminating distracting applications.
The real need for additional workstation security came from the risk of CoVantage’s service kiosks, deployed at each of eight branches. They worried about security threats such as keyloggers that could steal private information.
CoVantage has alleviated all these risks, thanks to the whitelisting protection of Anti-Executable.
The solution is part of just one in CoVantage’s layered security strategy. Anti-Executable is combined with Deep Freeze which can automatically reboot computers to their original settings.
Like many organizations, CoVantage is recognizing that alone, anti-virus software is a weak defense against malware for many reasons. “Blacklist anti-virus software can’t keep up with the signature files needed to block malware. And end-users complain that antivirus slows down their computers,” said Aaron Hurt, Information Security Officer at CoVantage.

For the 13th year in a row Faronics will attend the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) conference.
The 32nd annual conference will be held June 26th–June 29th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. ISTE is one of the largest education tradeshows in the country, and is a chance for more than 18,000 teachers, technology coordinators, library media specialists, teacher educators, administrators, and students to discover the benefits of Faronics’ software solutions.

For years the Augusta school district had struggled with a constant barrage of support issues related to malware attacks on teacher and staff computers.
On a daily basis, district technicians were spending over 60% of their time fighting malware infections and repairing computers.
On multiple occasions, it took several technicians over a week to clean up a malware infection that plagued the district systems.
With over 4,000 machines to manage, the technicians needed a fast, effective solution.
The solution the district turned to was Faronics Layered Security, combining Faronics Anti-Virus, Anti-Executable, and Deep Freeze on their workstations and servers.
The district can now rest assured their data is protected, computers are up and running without interruption, and staff and students can continue to do their jobs productively.
